PROJECT HISTORY The study area for the project begins south of the Sawgrass Expressway in Broward County and extends to Glades Road in Palm Beach County. The eastern limit is Florida's Turnpike and the western limit is the Everglades Conservation Area. The project need has been identified in the Corridor Planning and Design Report prepared by the Florida Department of Transportation District 4 in March, 1994 and is consistent with current local transportation plans of the Metropolitan Planning Organizations for both Broward County and Palm Beach County.
